Texting: the gr8 db8 & Reading and Writing, IPhoning
Texting can a great way to improve your reading and writing skills as well as a way to create bad habits in your grammar and writing style. The reason texting can harm your reading and writing ability is from abbreviating words. For example; when you write a paper, those bad habits of texting affect your writing. Bad grammar, spelling errors, and punctuation errors are all problems you receive from texting. Texting can only harm a writer when their writing is weak but texting can also keep your reading skills sharp. From personal experience texting has created bad habits which have made my writing weak. For example; "brb", "lol", "gr8", "ttyl", and etc., another reason texting has caused my writing skills to diminish is from the poor writers that text me. On the other hand, texting can has improved my reading skills. I can now read faster and not struggle on certain words.

Blog #29: Today's experience

I believe that families, genders, and relationships play the main role in how the society runs in today’s life style. For example, when I examine a modern day family and were to compare it to a family from the 1950s, the differences between the two are tremendously high. In today’s families, there isn’t exactly one single person who wears “the pants” in the family, it is more like sharing a pant legs between the mother and the father. Now days it is more common for the mother and the father to bring home the “bacon”(money) for their household. Unlike a family from the 1950 where the father worked and the mother stayed at home taking care of the children and being a homemaker.
ReplyDeleteThis is good. I like how you talk about texting can be a good thing or bad thing, and then you give examples for both of them. Not only do you talk about how it effects other people grammar or writing skill, but you talk about yourself and how it effects you in many different ways or how it helps you. I think you talking about yourself make it not boring. One thing you need to do for your blogs is read over them. Some of your sentences are messing words or there the wrong word in the place where the right word should be. Your doing a great job, keep up with the good work.
